Support the Bee Research Park at the University of Graz now.
Bees are essential to the ecosystem, especially honey bees for our food security. And: they are massively threatened by disease and environmental factors. In collaboration with the city of Graz, the University of Graz established the first experimental apiary in 2024 as part of the Bee Research Park. This created a home for more than a million honey bees, which are available to scientists for research into risk factors and the development of bee medicines.
Experimental apiary opened at Lustbühel
Thanks to 160 bee sponsorships, the first location of the University of Graz's new bee research park was able to open. Since spring 2024, 32 bee colonies of the Apis mellifera carnica subspecies have been located at Lustbühel. More are to follow.
